This policy describes the planned production account, entitlement, subscription, and device-registration system. It must be checked against the completed services and reviewed by a qualified attorney before launch.
1. Overview
Capture Companion is operated by Adam Fahlund in New Jersey, United States. This policy covers the Capture Companion website, applications, accounts, subscriptions, registered devices, and support services.
2. Account and subscription information
The service may process the name and email you provide, a stable internal account identifier, subscription plan and status, billing source, renewal or expiration date, grace-period status, and whether access is currently permitted.
Website billing may include Stripe customer, subscription, price, transaction, and payment-method fingerprint identifiers. Stripe, not Capture Companion, stores full payment-card details. Apple billing may include verified product, app transaction, original transaction, and offer-eligibility identifiers. Apple handles the purchase and payment details.
3. Registered-device information
Each installation creates an app-specific cryptographic identity. The service may store the device public key or a pseudonymous server-derived identifier, device name, platform, registration date, last entitlement check, registration history, and security or support audit events.
Capture Companion does not collect a Mac serial number, raw hardware UUID, or the device private key. Where supported, the private key remains protected by the Secure Enclave. A Keychain-protected installation secret is used when necessary.
4. Website, support, and diagnostics
Website and service operation may process IP address, user agent, request timing, security events, and related logs. Support requests may include the information you provide, application and operating system versions, connected-device details, and diagnostic reports you choose to send.
5. How information is used
Information is used to create and secure accounts, confirm trial and paid access, register and manage devices, reconcile Stripe and Apple subscription status, restore purchases, prevent fraud and replay, provide bounded offline access, respond to support, maintain service reliability, and meet legal or accounting obligations.
Capture Companion does not sell personal information or use it for third-party behavioral advertising. IP or geographic anomalies may be treated as risk signals, but do not by themselves cause an automatic account ban.
6. Service providers
Cloudflare provides website, API, database, networking, and security infrastructure. Stripe provides direct checkout and subscription billing. Apple provides App Store distribution, StoreKit billing, and purchase restoration. Each provider processes information under its own privacy terms.
7. Security and offline access
Account and entitlement traffic uses encrypted connections. Authorization secrets are stored in Keychain, and signed entitlement data permits paid access only for a limited offline period. Removing a device stops future entitlement refreshes; access ends when its current signed allowance expires.
8. Retention and deletion
Information is retained only while reasonably needed for account and subscription access, fraud prevention, support, audit, accounting, or legal obligations. The applications keep account sign-in, subscription purchase, Restore Purchases, device management, support, and safe access to existing user information available when paid access ends.
9. Choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or a portable copy of personal information. Some transaction and audit records may be retained where law, fraud prevention, or accounting obligations require it.
10. Contact
Privacy questions and requests can be directed to Support@CaptureCompanion.app.
